Labour Minister Joins Cabinet in Hearing Policy Proposals to Promote Youth Participation in National Development

August 7, 2025, 13.30 hours – Mr. Pongkawin Jungrungruangkit, Minister of Labour, attended a policy consultation event with youth and children’s networks. The session was presided over by Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who is currently acting as Prime Minister, together with members of the Cabinet, at Santi Maitri Building, Government House. The event served as a platform for children and youth networks to voice their perspectives and submit policy recommendations directly to the Prime Minister and Cabinet. The six participating groups included: 1. Kid for Kids – A Public Policy Knowledge Center for Change. 2. Young Policy Makers, 3. New Generation City Council. 4. Social Innovation Foundation (SIY). 5. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and 6. Equitable Education Fund (EEF). The meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering children and youth to actively participate in shaping the country’s policy direction, ensuring their voices contribute to national development.
