Labour Minister Joins “Care for Thai Workers to Have Security Campaign Walk” (Xin Jia Yu’ei Xin Ni Huad Chai) in Yaowarat

          On January 23, 2020, at 10.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul co-chaired the “Care for Thai Workers to Have Security Campaign Walk” (Xin Jia Yu’ei Xin Ni Huad Chai). The event took place at the Leng Bui Ai Community, Yaowarat District, Soi 6, Samphanthawong, Samphanthawong. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretariat Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman and the Ministry’s executives also joined the occasion. Leng Bui Ai Community Chairman Mr. Thanakrit Angsupali welcomed the visiting committee and received gifts from the Labour Minister.  The activity was organized following the Labour Minister’s policy, using various networks to give care to independent Thai workers to have security in life (Xin Jia Yu’ei Xin Ni Huad Chai). Red envelops with excellent benefits from the Social Security Office were shared, with an application to become an insurer under Section 40.  

          M.R. Chatumongol said that insurers under Section 40 are generally self-employed, aged no less than 15 years of age and not over 60, whereby the insurance created security and protection for self-employed persons. There are three options as follows: Option 1, to pay 70 Baht per month to receive three benefits, which are for situations in danger or sickness, to receive compensation for lack of income up to 300 Baht/day, compensation for lack of income from disability of 500 – 1,000 Baht/month (no more than 15 years) and funeral management fee of 20,000 Baht. Option 2, to pay 100 Baht/month to receive three benefits like option 1, with an additional pension of 50 Baht/month, saving up to 1,000 Baht/month. Option 3, to receive three benefits like option 1, with an additional pension of 150 Baht/month, an increased funeral fee to 40,000 Baht, and child allowance of 200 Baht/child/month, with more than two children at a time.

          People interested can apply at 7-eleven, the Ministry of Labour’s 1506 hotline, press 1 for the Social Security Office, all the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives counters, Social Security Offices nationwide, including mobile staff units.
