The Labour Minister led a team to meet the Prime Minister, before the Cabinet’s meeting, on a roadshow for a million jobs for million people, for Thai people to have a job, the Job Expo Thailand 2020, the grand employment event. The event will have over 1 million jobs nationwide for Thai people to have work, scheduled for September 26-28, at BITEC Bangna Hall, EH 98-99.
On September 22, 2020, at 08.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin led a team of executives and organizations on a roadshow for the Job Expo Thailand 2020 to meeting Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the event at the Santi Maitree Building, Government Houses, before the Cabinet’s meeting. The Labour Minister said that the government, by the Ministry of Labour, has organized the Job Expo Thailand 2020, the grand employment exhibition at the national level, with over one million jobs for Thai people to have a job. The event will be held between September 26-28, at BITEC Bangna, Hall EH 98-99, to alleviate the suffering of unemployment for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and economic stagnation.
Mr. Suchart further said that the Job Expo Thailand 2020 is in response to the government policy by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan. They wish to accelerate economic recovery after the Covid-19 situation has eased and to promote employment for all target groups. The focus is for Thai people to have jobs in every area, to support steady and ongoing employment, emphasizing empowering the workforce to enhance labour and organizational potential in strengthening the economy and sustainable competition for the future of Thailand. The Job Expo Thailand 2020 consists of the Thailand Together zone, a million jobs for a million people, from booths by leading agencies and organizations from all over the country that have gathered over 1 million positions, ready to serve the unemployed. There are 106,312 vacancies by the Department of Employment, 410,415 vacancies by the government, 112,242 overseas roles, 66,881 part-time jobs, and 44,150 jobs expected to employ Thai workers instead of foreign workers, and 260,000 roles following measures to promote employment for graduates. The event has gained cooperation from the private sector, such as Charoen Pokphand Foods, Minor Food Group, and PTT, matching people and jobs.

This system matches jobs suitable for individual qualifications, shortening the time to walk around and find organizations and jobs. In addition, participants can develop their professional skills within the zones to create jobs for professional development, switching to different courses throughout the day, such as career guidance, skill development training, demonstrations, self-employed practices, and franchise businesses.
In addition, the event has an exhibition honouring the of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, an exhibition on the Father of Thai Craftsmanship, and a volunteer spirit 904 exhibition. Organizers have used special effects, lights, and sounds to make the exhibition even more special. For the Social Security Zone, the Innovation Zone introduces technology, innovation in the age of 4.0, and the Thaimeengarntum.com platform’s capability will also be exhibited in this zone.
