From the case where insured persons had not received any unemployment insurance in the event of force majeure from the Social Security Office, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul ordered the Social Security Office to examine the information urgently. It was found that the majority of insured persons who submitted a complaint were in the top five areas where unemployment insurance claims were filed, namely the Social Security Office Headquarters, the Bangkok Social Security Office Area 3 (Din Daeng), Area 11 (Yannawa), Area 12 (Wattana) and Phuket Social Security Office, resulting in insufficient staff in the information verification process.
Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul, therefore, assigned the Social Security Office’s Secretariat Mr. Todsaphon Kritwongwiman to increase the number of officers expediting the diagnosis in order to pay the beneficiaries quicker. In this regard, the process of paying such benefits requires staff to inspect the procedures prescribed by law and to not rely only on computer systems. Therefore, staff will need to be upskilled to help to speed up payment in situations of unemployment from force majeure
