Labour Minister Presents the Ministry of Labour’s Seven New Year’s Gifts to Employers and Employees, Valued Over 20 Million Baht

Today (December 24, 2025), Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, chaired the press conference on the Ministry of Labour’s New Year’s gifts in 2025. Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, gave a report. Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, assigned to the Office of the Prime Minister and currently serving at the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phumipat Mueanchan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, along with the Ministry of Labour’s executives, civil servants, and the media, joined the occasion in the lobby on the ground floor of the Ministry of Labour.

Mr. Phiphat revealed the Ministry of Labour’s New Year’s gifts in 2025. He said that the Ministry of Labour has prepared seven New Year’s gifts to give to workers nationwide as a source of encouragement. The gifts are worth 20 million Baht, as follows: The first item is the provision of a source of funds for career promotion. A loan amount of 50,000 to 300,000 Baht will be available at 0% interest for 24 months (by the Department of Employment). The loan is provided by a fund for homeworkers and freelancers to alleviate the burden of expenses and increase career opportunities for them. Individuals can apply for a loan not exceeding 50,000 Baht, and groups of individuals can borrow not over 300,000 Baht. The period is from December 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, and the contract must be completed by May 31, 2025. The credit limit is 5,000,000 Baht. Interested persons can contact the Provincial Employment Office in every province nationwide or through the Department of Employment’s website.

The second gift is free air conditioner cleaning services for one unit per house for 10,000 households (by the Department of Skill Development). Free air conditioner cleaning services for people nationwide with houses no more than 2 stories and one unit per house. Individuals can make reservations through the QR code. The service is limited to only 10,000 households. The total value of this gift is 5,000,000 Baht. Users must register for eligibility from December 24 to 31, 2024. The third gift is the provision of vehicle inspection services before and during the New Year festival for a total of 9 days. The services help ensure people travel home safely (by the Department of Skill Development) between December 24 and January 1, 2025). The locations include the Institutes and Skill Development Offices and on main or secondary roads nationwide, such as Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Chonburi. Inspection services are provided to ensure readiness before traveling to reduce risk factors for accidents. The fourth gift is the provision of basic Thai labour standard assessment training, TIS 8001, and transportation work, TIS 8003, to 200 business operators (by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare). The application submission period is throughout January 2025, and the assessment is free, to be conducted within April 2025. This initiative will allow businesses to receive Thai labour standard certifications, reducing the burden of expenses for business establishments for assessments worth a total of 9,000,000 Baht (200 locations, 45,000 Baht each). The fifth gift is free “Safety Culture Together” training for 10,000 employees/safety officers (by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare). This project provides employees with knowledge of occupational health, safety, and work environment, which can reduce the cost burden for employers in sending personnel to receive training. The gift is valued at 10,000,000 Baht (1,000 Baht per person for 10,000 people). The sixth gift is to raise the quality of life for insured persons through free cancer screening and treatment under the SSO Cancer Care project (by the Social Security Office). The project offers comprehensive quality cancer treatment for insured persons, from diagnosis to treatment, whereby insured persons can make decisions together with the treating physician at the hospital where they are eligible. The seventh gift is the provision of the T-OSH app risk report for Safe Workplaces (by the Institute of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Promotion). Business establishments will be able to install the risk report system and conduct a free initial risk assessment to prevent work-related accidents in their workplaces. Business establishments interested in joining the project can contact the Institute for Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Promotion or visit the institute’s website. Applications are open from January 1 to 31, 2025.

In the end, Mr. Phiphat said, “All of these gifts reflect the Ministry of Labour’s intentions to prepare various projects and services to give as a New Year’s gift to our workers to be able to access government services, in line with the Ministry of Labour’s policy.”
