On March 13, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul recorded a program on Channel News Asia, about the fishing industry in the Asia-Pacific region and the history of forced labour in fishing vessels throughout the Pacific and Indian oceans. The Labour Minister spoke about the issue of overseeing foreign workers working in the fishing sector to resolve the situation, including developments by the Thai government, whereby the Ministry of Labour has implemented measures after the suppression of exploitation of fishery workers. The occasion took place at the Saengsingkaew conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
The program will broadcast on Channel News Asia on May 16, 2020.
