Labour Minister Reiterates Executives to Drive Action Plan for Thailand 4.0

           The Ministry of Labour has devised a 20-year strategic framework on human resource development (2017 -2036) with the aim to add value to the workforce towards sustainability and to drive the Thailand 4.0 policy. The framework will help the nation overcome the middle income gap, inequality and imbalance. The Thailand 4.0 model will be utilized to overcome the 3 obstacles and improve all dimensions such as economics, society, human resources, organization development and culture. Agendas include preparing the workforce for the Thailand 4.0, to support special economic zones, to support targeted industries and for local development. Furthermore, the agenda will include re-skill, up-skill and multi-skill, designing a National Brainpower Development framework and expanding collaboration regionally and globally.

           Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul has reiterated the Ministry of Labour’s management to excel 2017 action plans to align with the strategic framework and to meet both urgent and general targets. The Labour Minister asked for clarity on progress reports, particularly regarding foreign worker management and workforce development in order to support economic growth and government investments. He also reiterated determination of strategies and channels for knowledge creation amongst target groups at the government, state enterprise, private organization, international organization and general public level, stating clear measurement indexes. He said that such efforts will contribute to laying a solid foundation to supporting government policies towards national reformation, and improving the quality of life for workers.
