Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the overall situation of the proactive Covid-19 screening for insured persons following the “Workforce Fighting Together” project at the Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), Din Daeng. He said that the second day was satisfactory and that he had ordered the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to instruct safety staff to follow strict measures to prevent Covid-10 from spreading among the workers in the workplace. He also instructed the Department of Employment to ask for cooperation from employers to urge foreign workers to comply with regulations and measures to control diseases and reduce the risk of Covid-19.
On April 18, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin reported the progress of the proactive Covid-19 screening for insured persons following the “Workforce Fighting Together” project. He said that today was the second day of the proactive Covid-19 screening services for insured persons in the social security system under Section 33, 39, and 40 located in Bangkok. The efforts aim to reduce congestion and facilitate service users, utilizing the West Sports Building 1, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), Din Daeng, Bangkok, as a test site. In this regard, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha has concerns for insured persons who returned to the provinces and visited risky places over the Songkran festival. The Ministry of Labour has joined with the Ministry of Interior (Bangkok) and the National Health Security Office (NHSO) to organize a proactive Covid-19 screening program for insured persons, following the Workforce Fighting Together” project. Today is the second day of the services. The Labour Minister monitored the situation and urged the Social Security Office to examine the procedures to facilitate the insured persons. From the most recent reports, the overall program was satisfactory. Everything operated smoothly following the steps and measures prescribed by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health.
Mr. Suchart said that he had ordered the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to instruct safety staff to strictly follow measures to prevent Covid-19 from workers in the workplace, such as screening employees before entering work, wearing masks, social distancing, and washing hands often. He has also instructed the Department of Employment to request cooperation from employers to emphasize among foreign workers within their responsibility, to strictly follow the requirements and preventive measures to reduce the risk of contracting Covid-19.
“Insured persons who have visited places of risk, and those who fall into risk groups as specified by the Ministry of Public Health and NHSO, can register for a queue online at https://sso.icntracking.com/icntracking/self_register.php, to reserve a Covid-19 screening queue. If the infection is found, it can be treated promptly by the procedures prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health,” concluded Labour Minister Mr. Suchart.
