The Labour Minister and committee attended the 3rd CLMTV Ministerial Meeting in Cambodia. He revealed that the meeting agreed on the principles of the plan to drive and maintain social security rights for migrant workers in the CLMTV countries and to form Ministerial Declaration Working Group which will be certified at the next meeting in Laos.
On September 17, 2019, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng, Thai Ambassador to Cambodia Mr. Panyarak Poolsub, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, Deputy Secretary from the Social Security Office Ms. Aumpun Thuvavit and relevant officials, attended the 3rd Meeting of Labour Ministers in the CLMTV countries. The event took place at the Apsara Palace Resort and Convention Center, Siem Reap, Cambodia. The topic of the meeting was “Toward the Protection of Migrant Workers in CLMVT Countries: Social Security Cooperation”, whereby Prime Minister of Cambodia Mr. Hun Sen, presided over the opening ceremony.
This meeting agreed on the principles of the roadmap for the migration and retention of social security rights for migrant workers in the CLMTV countries and the Joint Statement to demonstrate the intention to jointly develop and exchange learning about migration and maintaining social rights for CLMTV foreign workers. There will be a Ministerial Declaration Working Group, which will be certified at the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the CLMTV countries in Laos.
