Labour Minister Visit Nonthaburi to Inspect Proactive Covid-19 Screening in Establishments

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin led the committee to Nonthaburi to pay a visit, give encouragement and deliver items to employees who proactively tested for Covid-19, for insured persons in the workplace, at one company.

          On May 10, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin paid a visit, delivered items, and gave words of encouragement to employees who proactively tested for Covid-19 for insured persons at a company in Pakkred District, Nonthaburi. Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitvong, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthep Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretary General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, Deputy Governor of Nonthaburi Province Mr. Apichai Aramsri, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned about the workforce amid the Covid-19 outbreak due to the widespread of the pandemic and the increasing infection rate. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, was instructed to expand proactive Covid-19 testing facilities to establishments to accelerate control over the outbreak in dark red areas, such as Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Chon Buri, Rayong, Samut Sakhon, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

          Mr. Suchart added that today, he paid a visit to Samut Prakarn to inspect and encourage the employees and workers, providing the proactive Covid-19 tests for employees at a company. The Nonthaburi Social Security Office has worked with hospitals in the social security network in the area to arrange mobile screening services to be set up at establishments where employees are at risk of exposure, providing Covid-19 screening. Those screened will get results within 24 to 48 hours. This factory had 637 employees. If the virus is detected, patients will have to undergo the treatment process specified by the Ministry of Public Health. The employees in the establishments do not have to pay for the screening.
