Labour Minister Visits Chonburi for Proactive Covid-19 Screening for Employees in the Workplace at Amata City Industrial Estate and Donates Hygiene Masks and Items to Fight Covid-19

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin led a committee to inspect, encourage and deliver goods to employees who are insured persons, getting tested for Covid-19 in the workplace at the Amata City Industrial Estate. The committee also donated hygiene masks, PPE kits, and supplies to the Nong Ri Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Chonburi Province.
          On May 12, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin paid a visit to inspect, encourage and deliver goods to employees who are insured persons, getting tested for Covid-19 in the workplace at the Amata City Industrial Estate Nong Mai Daeng, Mueang District, Chonburi Province. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayawong, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretary General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, Chonburi Provincial Governor Mr. Phakthon Thianchai and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister said that Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned about the workforce amid the Covid-19 outbreak due to the widespread of the pandemic and the increasing infection rate. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, was instructed to expand proactive Covid-19 testing facilities to establishments to accelerate control over the outbreak in dark red areas, such as Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Chon Buri, Rayong, Samut Sakhon, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
          Mr. Suchart continued that for today’s event, he thanked the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, by the Office of Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate and Amata Corporation PLC, for their cooperation and assistance in providing the screening facility and announcements to establishments in the industrial estate. The event conducted proactive Covid-19 screening employees from companies within the Amata City Industrial Estate. The Chonburi Social Security Office collaborated with four hospitals in the social security network, namely Vibharam Amata Nakorn Hospital, Vibharam Laem Chabang Hospital, Aikchol Hospital 2, and Phayathai Sriracha Hospital, to organize mobile screening services in the workplace for employees who fall into the risk groups with exposure to infection. The employees screened for Covid-19 will get results within 24-48 hours. For Chonburi Province, there is an action plan from May 11 to 28, 2021, to screen employees from 90 companies for a total of 9,790 insured persons. The plan includes 41 companies from Mueang District, totaling 3,736 insured persons, 19 companies from Sriracha District, totaling 4,336 insured persons, and 30 companies from Banglamung District, totaling 1,718 insured persons. Employees detected with Covid-19 will go through the treatment control process specified by the Ministry of Public Health. The employees from the companies do not have to pay for the tests.
          The Labour Minister then delivered 600 PPE kits to the Chonburi Public Health Office, 400 PPE kits and 20 boxes of hygiene masks to Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital, 50 boxes of dehydrated food products to the Director of the Office of Amata City Industrial Estate, 5,000 boxes or 250,000 hygiene masks to the Nongree Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and 3,450 boxes or 172,500 hygiene masks to the Samnak Bok Subdistrict Administrative Organization, for the morale and encouragement of medical personnel and people who have been affected by the Covid-19 situation.
