On June 18, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the visit to observe operations of the Workers Rehabilitation Center, Region 4, Khok Si, Muang, Khon Kaen. The Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayawong, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, the SSO’s Inspector-General Mr. Nanthachai Panyasurarit and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion.
The Labour Minister gave a speech on the occasion of meeting and encouraging the staff and those who received rehabilitation from the Khon Kaen Workers Rehabilitation Center, Region 4. He said that the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office operates following the government’s policy to support insured persons in all aspects, to receive benefits in all seven cases. Even if employees/insured persons are in danger or have no security, they must be closely monitored, and no one should be left behind. The Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office has established worker rehabilitation centers to provide rehabilitation services to employees who have suffered harm or illness from work, under the Compensation Act B.E. 2537, including those insured under the Social Security Act B.E. 2533. If there is danger, illness or loss of organs, workers can undergo rehabilitation with full rights as prescribed by the law, free of charge. The center helps such groups return to their lives, and to return to work in establishments, become self-employed or able to live on their own without being a burden on their family and society. It provides comprehensive rehabilitation services, both professionally and socially.
On this occasion, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomkin visited the Khok Nong Na Model Project of the Khon Kaen Workers Rehabilitation Center, Region 4. The project supports those who have been rehabilitated to practice new agricultural work skills by adjusting the area to grow large crops. It uses a 6-step learning point, digging the old pond to pump water onto the hump using solar energy, and provides vocational training by using fields to grow rice, vegetables, and edible plants. Mr. Suchart praised the operation of the Khon Kaen Workers Rehabilitation Center, Region 4, which takes care of those who undergo physical, mental, and social rehabilitation. The center also promotes vocational training for success. He encouraged officials and all those who undergo rehabilitation to be determined to develop themselves in learning so that they overcome various obstacles and develop themselves to have the potential to work as normal people. The Labour Minister said that he is ready to support and assist the operations of the Workers Rehabilitation Center to develop the potential of providing rehabilitation services to employees and insured persons to return to the labour market to be the strength of the family and the nation.
