Labour Minister Visits Pathum Thani to Inspect Proactive Covid-19 Screening for Employees in the Workplace

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin led a committee to inspect, encourage and give supplies to employees going for proactive Covid-19 screening for insured persons in the workplace at a company in Muang, Pathum Thani Province.

          On May 14, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin visited the area to inspect and encourage employees to get tested for Covid-19 at a workplace in Muang, Pathum Thani Province. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, the Social Security Office’s Secretary General Mr. Tosapol Kritawongwiman, Pathum Thani Provincial Governor Mr. Chaiwat Chuenkosum, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister said that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned about insured persons amid the Covid-19 outbreak due to the widespread of the pandemic and the increasing infection rate. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, was instructed to expand proactive Covid-19 testing facilities to establishments to accelerate control over the outbreak in dark red areas, such as Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Chon Buri, Rayong, Samut Sakhon, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

          Mr. Suchart said that for today’s event, he thanked the company for their support in providing the screening facility and announcements to establishments in the industrial estate. The event conducted proactive Covid-19 screening for employees within the company. The Pathum Thani Social Security Office collaborated with Karunvej Pathum Thani Hospital and the Provincial Public Health Office to organize mobile screening services in the workplace for employees who fall into the risk groups with exposure to infection. The employees screened for Covid-19 will get results within 24-48 hours. This company is one of the companies in the inspection plan, targeting screening 3,205 insured persons. If the virus is detected, the employees will undergo the treatment control process specified by the Ministry of Public Health. The employees in the establishment do not have to pay for the inspection.
