The Advisor to the Labour Minister commended labour volunteers as a medium for working with the agencies under the Ministry of Labour to resolve urgent matters quickly. He also asked the labour volunteers to apply knowledge gained to perform duties efficiently
Today (January 14, 2020) at 09.40 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet presided over the opening ceremony of the Labour Volunteers Empowerment Network to integrate with the Ministry of Labour’s mission and promote the prevention and resolution to drug issues in the workplace, in Suphan Buri for 2020. The occasion took place at the Kalaphruek Room, Songphanburi Hotel, Suphan Buri province. The Advisor to the Labour Minister said that “Labour volunteers play an important role in every level of operations in the area, whether it is public health, community development, disaster prevention and mitigation, environmental protection, security, justice or labour. Each department will appoint volunteers to help in all aspects. The volunteers can be considered people with great sacrifice as it takes time that should be spent in a career or perform other tasks that are personal or for the family. They are important people to the development of the country and an important force to work with both government and private organizations to help people who are suffering.”
“I would like to commend all the labour volunteers for their volunteerism, spirit and public sacrifice in joining the Ministry of Labour by acting as a medium for cooperation to help contact with government agencies under the Ministry of Labour. Volunteers help people who experience labour issues in the communities and societies they are involved in. They monitor unfair labour practices, foreign labour issues in the area, create awareness campaigns and enhance immunity in drug prevention for employees/employers in establishments with less than 10 employees, to be aware of drug problems. Labour volunteers also report clues/situations/events to agencies under the Ministry of Labour to urgently resolve problems quickly.”
“I would like to encourage everyone to study and exchange experiences from speakers and cooperate in various activities of the training for development. This will help yourself and labour missions. When the training is finished, I encourage you to apply your knowledge to perform in your duties, which will benefit your people, villages, communities, and families more efficiently and effectively,” concluded the Advisor to the Labour Minister.
