Labour Minister’s Advisor Encourages Labour Volunteers in Trang for Sacrifices and Taking Missions to Local Areas

                The Advisor to the Labour Minister traveled to Trang province to meet and encourage labour volunteers who sacrifice personal and family time, using labour services to help solve problems and improve the quality of life for the people in the area to have comprehensive access to government services.

                On January 16, 2020, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet presided over the opening ceremony for the training and special lecture on “labour volunteers as the driving force of the Ministry of Labour’s missions”, in the workshop to strengthen labour volunteer networks to integrate with the Ministry of Labour’s missions. The event took place at the Le Trang Boutique Resort Hotel, Mai Fad, Sikao, Trang. Deputy Provincial Governor of Trang Mr. Khajonasak Chareonsopa gave a welcoming and Trang Provincial Labour Officer Mrs. Amornwan Chuangpetchinda gave a report. The Advisor to the Labour Minister said that labour volunteers play an important role in the operations in the area, whether it is for career promotion and employment, extending the protection of insured persons under Section 40, monitoring unfair labour practices and foreign worker issues in the area, preventing and solving human trafficking and strengthening immunity and preventing drug problems in organizations with less than 10 employees. He said that labour volunteers make great sacrifices, as it takes time that should be spent in a career or performing other tasks that are personal or for the family, to work with the Ministry of Labour in order to support workers who are suffering. Thus, labour volunteers are to raise the level of labour services in improving the quality of life of people in the area to cover all sub-districts.

                Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak said that the Ministry of Labour recognizes the importance of the potential of labour volunteers, to be knowledgeable in new labour missions to convey to the people in the area receiving services that meet their needs. It also supports the integration of collaboration among agencies under the Ministry of Labour, in line with the policy of driving labour missions to people in the area efficiently and for the maximum benefit to the people. He thanked all government departments under the Ministry of Labour and the staff involved in this workshop. He gave words of encouragement to all volunteers to share their knowledge and experience from speakers, to cooperate in various activities and develop themselves in the service of labour missions and others that have been assigned, to their full capacity, and work happily for the benefit of the people.
