Labour Minister’s Advisor Gives Lecture on Labour Volunteer Network Capacity Building and Conducts Official Inspection in Ayutthaya

          Today (January 15, 2020) at 09.35 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet delivered policies and working guidelines for 2020, to heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Ayutthaya. He also presided over the opening ceremony of the training for the Labour Volunteers Empowerment Network to integrate the mission of the Ministry of Labour and join the fight against drugs in Ayutthaya. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak gave a lecture on “labour volunteers as the driving force of the Ministry of Labour missions,” at Petch Pailin Room, 2nd floor, Riverview Place Hotel, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. This project was arranged to enhance knowledge that is useful to labour volunteers and networks, causing the integration of labour volunteer work between departments under the Ministry of Labour and the labour volunteer networks. The event was an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences in working as labour volunteer, which will result in the development of operational guidelines that work in the same direction and create an understanding of the instructions for the prevention and resolution of drug problems in the workplace. Participants totaled 250 people, consisting of 209 volunteer leaders at the sub-district level and network in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, six heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, six labour volunteer mentors from departments under the Ministry of Labour, and 29 department officials under the Ministry of Labour.

          In the afternoon, the Advisor to the Labour Minister visited the missions of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Skill Development Institute 15 in National Skill Standards Assessments in forklift supervision, the assessment of knowledge and skills following the Labour Skill Promotion Act for indoor electricians, and training to upgrade skills in mechanical drawing by computer at the BGC Glass Academy, Rojana Industrial Park, Sam Bundit, Uthai, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

          The visiting committee observed operational results on enhancing and developing skills for informal workers in leather product making career groups, at Tha Ruea, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, following the project to the occupational alleviation projects.
