On December 25, 2019, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet visited the “Phongphan Ornament homeworker group”. Huai Pho labour volunteer Mrs. Khamphong Pinitchot, the group president and members welcomed the visiting committee at Ban Don Muang, Moo 9, Huai Pho, Mueang, Kalasin.
The “Phongphan Ornament homeworker group” has 25 members, mostly aged between 50 – 60 years. In the 2016 fiscal year, the project received a budget to enhance the Thai workforce, from the Kalasin provincial office. It started a vocational training course on “skill development in jewelry making”. In 2019, it received a budget from the occupational alleviation projects. Ornaments produced by the group will be sent to business owners in Bangkok to be sold abroad, resulting in the group having more income to spend in the family, with an average of 1,000 Baht/person / month. In addition, Kalasin Employment Office has also provided knowledge about loans for home-based work groups.
Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet then chaired a meeting to deliver policies and working guidelines to agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Kalasin Province. The meeting took place at the Kalasin Provincial Labour Office, Kalasin City Hall, 3rd floor.
