Labour Minister’s Advisor Welcomes President of Labour Development Trade Association to Discuss MOL’s Foreign Labour Management

            On October 21, 2019, at 14.30 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet to welcome President of the Labour Development Trade Association Mr. Thanich Numnoi, on courtesy call and to congratulate the Labour Minister on his appointment. He also introduced the association’s executive committee and acknowledged the Ministry of Labour’s foreign labour management policies. The occasion took place at the Saengsingkaew conference room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
            The Labour Development Trade Association was founded on June 28, 2018. It is an organization established under Trade Association Act B.E. 2509 with offices located at 1/70 Bang Bon Road, Khlong Bang Phran, Bang Bon, Bangkok. The association is a combination of private companies licensed to bring foreign workers to work with local employers, from the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment. There are currently 50 member companies spread accross various provinces such as Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Chon Buri, Phetchaburi, Ranong, Surat Thani, Phuket and Songkhla. The association has a role in bringing foreigners to work with employers in Thailand following the employment agreement (MOU), with focus on importing migrant workers from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
