On July 29, 2020, at 09.45 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng presided over the health promotion, disease prevention and dissemination of knowledge on social security for 2020, called the “Healthy Thailand for Insured Persons” project, which took place at activity area on the connection pathway with the Center of Medical Excellence, Lat Phrao Hospital Hospital, Bangkok. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, together with the Ministry of Labour’s executives including Director of the Medical Services System Ms. Pakomn Silanupub, Acting Performance Consultant to the Social Security Office, Deputy Secretary-General of the Social Security Office Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Director of Lat Phrao Hospital Dr. Pramote Phunnaphanon, Director of the Bangkok Social Security Office Area 9 and executives from the Social Security Office gave a welcoming.
Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng said to the media that the Social Security Office is an essential unit of the Ministry of Labour, which is Responsible for the development of the social security system and benefits, including promoting health protection to create principles for ensuring stability and a better quality of life for all labour groups. It is also responsible for network expansion in developing the protection of independent workers to have social security and the same benefits as formal workers. It is also responsible for promoting a better quality of life, coupled with the development of public services to receive benefits efficiently and fair with contribution amounts.
The Assistant to the Labour Minister added that the Social Security Office understands the importance of creating awareness about social security coverage understanding. Thus, the event today highlights how the Bangkok Social Security Office, Area 9, has proactively organized activities to promote health, prevent disease and disseminate knowledge on social security under the project called “Healthy Thailand for Insured Persons.” The project is in collaboration with Lat Phrao Hospital, which is a social security contract party. The event had exhibitions on health promotion and disease prevention, essential health examination services, advisory services to solve health problems and financial health. The event also had lectures about promoting health and preventing diseases caused by lifestyle behaviors, and health promotion in the new normal by experts from Lat Phrao Hospital. It also shared knowledge about the social security fund, compensation fund, and the Healthy Thailand for Insured Persons quiz to conquer diseases, by winning prizes hosted by the Information Center from the Rehabilitation Center for Workers Region 1, Pathum Thani and the Bangkok Social Security Office, Area 9.
On this occasion, Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng and the Ministry of Labour’s executive committee, together with the Social Security Office’s executive committee, gave gifts of encouragement for insured persons who were admitted as an inpatient. The occasion was in honour of His Majesty the King’s birthday.
