Labour Minister’s Assistant Organizes Health Promotion Activities in Nakhon Pathom With Session on “Learn About COVID-19 with Social Security”

          On March 17, 2020, Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng chaired the activities in the “proactive health promotion in the workplace” project at United Winery and Distillery Company Limited, Nakhon Chai Si, Nakhon Chai Si, Nakhon Pathom. Departmental Inspector-General Mrs. Pidsamai Nithipaiboo, Senior Permanent Secretary of Nakhon Chai Si District Mr. Chaiyut Huncharoen, Senior Factory Manager Ms. Sirikeat Phol-asa and Nakhon Pathom Social Security Officer Ms. Usa Tirawittyalert and staff, joined the welcoming.

          Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng said to the media that Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul is concerned for the employees who are insured in the social security system, affected by the rapid situation and severe epidemic of COVID-19. Therefore, he has set policies for departments under the Ministry of Labour to place importance on the health and safety of insured employees while ordering the Social Security Office nationwide to provide knowledge on the prevention of infectious diseases with COVID-19, and advice on benefits to insured employees. The activities organized today, aims to drive the health promotion service policy, with the development of activities about self- care and risk mitigation, which will encourage insurers to pay more attention to health. The events were organized in collaboration with United Winery and Distillery Company Limited, to promote health and disease prevention in the workplace. It aims to provide knowledge on “Learn About COVID-19 with Social Security”. The event organized screening and distribution of masks to 50 participants, with a lecture to give understanding about “promoting and preventing disease in the workplace” by doctors from Nakhon Chai Si Hospital, and a session providing knowledge about COVID-19 by Dr. Nithaya Pornpimaphan, Director of the Worker Rehabilitation Center Region 1, Pathum Thani Province.
