Labour Minister’s Assistant Visits and Gift Insurers with Disabilities under Section 40 in Surat Thani

          Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng visited Surat Thani province to meet insurers with disabilities under Section 40 and gave away two items.

          On January 14, 2020, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng visited Surat Thani province to meet and give words of encouragement to the disabled who are insurers of Section 40 in Surat Thani Province. He met with two insurers. Surat Thani Provincial Labour Officer Ms. Aree Kanthiroth, Surat Thani Social Security Officer Mrs. Marasri Chaisrungsee, and Surat Thani Employment Officer Mrs. Metika Satanusorn together with representatives from agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Surat Thani, also joined the occasion. The committee visited the first insurer, Mr. Theerapol Nasuk, 25, residing at No. 113/33 Soi Samet Riang 10, Moo 6, Makham Tia, Mueang, Surat Thani, a disabled insurer under Section 40 from being shot, causing physical disabilities in the lower body without feeling. He became a person with disabilities on January 1, 2012, and insured under Section 40 on July 26, 2012. Mr. Theerapol selected option 2 to contribute 150 Baht to the Compensation Fund monthly, whereby the insurer pays 100 Baht, and the government subsidizes 50 Baht monthly. The insurer receives compensation for lack of income in the case of disability, amounting to 1,000 Baht per month for a period of 15 years from January 1, 2016, to January 1, 2031.

          The Assistant to the Labour Minister then visited and gave words of encouragement to Mrs. Rabieb Janluem, 66, residing at 58/1 Wat Pho Road, Talat, Mueang, Surat Thani, who is a disabled insurer under Section 40. She became disabled due to macular degeneration causing blindness and blurred vision on August 29, 2017. Mrs. Rabieb became an insurer under Section 40 on December 8, 2014, and selected option 2, to contribute 150 Baht to the Compensation Fund monthly, whereby the insurer pays 100 Baht, and the government subsidizes 50 Baht monthly. The insurer receives compensation for lack of income in the case of disability, amounting to 800 Baht per month for a period of 15 years from August 29, 2017, to January 29, 2032.
