MOL Awards Certificates to Thank Private Sector in Supporting Vaccination at Worker Camps

          On August 3, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to visit the area to present a certificate of appreciation to the private sector for their contribution to the social security network in providing facilities and hospitals supporting medical personnel in providing COVID-19 vaccinations in worker camps. The occasion took place at the Lumpini Tower, Vibhavadi Road, Chompol, Chatuchak, Bangkok. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Navamawat, Managing Director of L.P.P. Company Property Management Co., Ltd. Khun Somsri Techakraisri, executive officers of LPN Development PCL, and the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, also joined the occasion. Mrs. Thiwalrat said that that government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, is concerned for the workforce and the general public amid the COVID-19 situation and has made COVID-19 vaccinations a national agenda. The Ministry of Labour has implemented a month-long lockdown of camp workers intending to vaccinate about 80,000 camp workers, that is 3,000 daily, from the 611 camps in Bangkok, comprising 83,082 workers, including 32,471 Thais and 50,611 foreigners.

          “Today, the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, has assigned the committee and me to visit the area to hand out certificates to thank the private sector executives, especially LPN Development Group and Kasemrad Inter Hospital, for supporting with the facility and medical personnel in carrying out COVID-19 vaccinations to the workers’ camp, at the COVID-19 Vaccination Center in Lumpini Tower, Vibhavadi Road. The facility has the potential to vaccinate 1,000 people daily. COVID-19 vaccinations in the worker’s camps are one of the Ministry of Labour’s measures for prevention and treatment by expediting vaccinations to insured persons. The effort follows the government’s policy to control the spread of COVID-19 and build immunity among the workers as well,” concluded Mrs. Thiwalrat.
