On November 29, 2019, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul co-chaired the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation for development and enhancement of professional training for target groups. The MOC was signed between the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development, the Department of Skill Development, the Department of Employment, the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission and the Electronic Transactions Development Agency. The occasion took place at the Pakorn Angsusingha Meeting Room, 2nd floor, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The Ministry of Labour’s representatives included the Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Suchart Pornchaiwisetkun and the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General Mr. Tawat Benchatikul, who signed the Memorandum of Cooperation as well. The Labour Minister said that in the age of globalization, digital innovation, fast-paced changes, and the alpha era, these have affected the old world and type of work we are familiar with. Thus, there must be readiness in both skills and knowledge and thought processes for the workforce, which will directly affect the national economy for sustainable growth.
M.R. Chatumongol further said that the Ministry of Labour is pleased to have integrated cooperation to drive the “development and enhancement of professional training” with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. The Ministry of Labour, but he Department of Skill Development, welcomes the cooperation to develop appropriate training courses for target groups to develop a model and organize training in courses that are consistent with the needs of the labour market, which includes the national labour skill assessments. In addition, the Department of Employment is ready to work on employment promotion by providing employment services, career and professional guidance, including the recruitment of work to do at home in order to jointly develop society and promote target group to receive equal opportunities in society, have a career, income and the ability to support themselves and their families. It is a foundation of economic promotion, which is a great force of the nation. The cooperation of all three ministries today is one part of improving the quality of life, creating a quality workforce, and reducing inequality in society.
