On August 11, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, chaired the meeting of the heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi to drive the Ministry of Labour’s mission following the Labour Minister’s policy. The occasion took place at the meeting room of the Phetchaburi Provincial Social Security Office. In the afternoon, the Labour Minister’s Advisor delivered 40 bunk beds, 142 sets of mattresses and pillows, valued at 169,660 Baht to Sanam Nong Chumphon Hospital, Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province. The recipients were Mrs. Wanpen Mangsri, Deputy Governor of Phetchaburi Province, Mr. Boonlarp Thipchan, Deputy Doctor of the Phetchaburi Provincial Public Health Officer, and Mr. Prasert Plodprong from Khao Yoi District Public Health Office. The Phetchaburi Provincial Employment Officer and Provincial Labour Protection and Welfare Officer also joined the occasion.
Mrs. Thiwalrat said that Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, were concerned about the workforce and the general public amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Vaccinations have been made a national agenda to control the outbreak and to create group immunity among the workforce like in Phetchaburi Province, where there are many establishments. Many agencies have worked together with support, especially with items needed to set up a field hospital for COVID-19 patients.
“Today, the Ministry of Labour under the leadership of Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin has seen the hardships and of the workforce from the impact of COVID-19. Therefore, he has assigned me to work with the Provincial Governor, Public Health Office, and local government organizations to support society to survive this situation together. The efforts aim to support medical personnel and alleviate the suffering of the people to resolve problems faced during the pandemic, following the government’s intent to leave no one behind,” concluded Mrs. Thiwalrat.
