Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Suchat Pornchaiwiseskul also joined the meeting at the Prasong Rananant meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng said that Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul emphasized the safety of the lives of employers/foreign workers and personnel who may be affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, which has been declared in Thailand as a dangerous infectious disease that can be transmitted from person to person by respiratory systems or exposure to secretions of the infected person. The government has now announced to abstain from group gatherings and not to organize activities that require groups of people. He has therefore instructed the Ministry of Labour, by the Department of Employment to notify the revision of service forms for work permit renewals and the issuance of non-Thai national identity card (pink cards) to foreign workers at the One Stop Service (OSS) Center in all 4 locations, including 1. IT Square Laksi Department Store 2. U Mall Mall Plaza Petchkasem 3. Department Store Number One Plaza And 4. Nong Chok Intersection Market
“The One Stop Service Center (OSS) in Bangkok will adjust its service model from March 19, 2020, onwards and will only close for the service of Bangkok Administration and the Immigration Bureau. Meanwhile, the Department of Employment will continue to provide services, with staff on hand to provide notification services, recordings in the NAME LIST, in which employers or licensors bring foreigners to work by themselves will not need to take the foreigner. It will also provide information services and information and will close its appointment system and the work permit application system (Tor. 2) temporarily,” he said.
“From March 19-31, 2020, the Department of Employment will contact the employer/ workplace to make an appointment.
