On September 3, 2019, Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Apinya Sucharitanan, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General Mr. Wichai Pewsa-ard conducted the third round of monitoring/evaluations to assess the overall performance of agencies under the Ministry of Labour, following the government’s annual audit plan. The inspection found that agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Uthai Thani province had mostly implemented policies stressed by the Ministry of Labour and were almost complete. For activities/projects that were not yet targeted, the Inspector-General of Labour asked the agencies to expedite both the plan and budget.
Regarding the certification of knowledge and capabilities, the Inspector-General recommended that in addition to the field of building electricians, the Provincial Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand has also collaborated with private agencies to train and upgrade the skills of personnel in other areas such as air conditioner installations and the welding, as well as pushing for trainees in both branches to pass the national skill standards assessment. Shortly, these branches will be the next that will consider having a license to guarantee the safety of life and property of people and users, in the preparation and development of skills. Therefore, the Labour Minister emphasized that the Uthai Thani EPPO, prepare both the location and tools that will support the assessments for air conditioning repair technicians or professional welders that apply for the evaluation. The Inspector-General then followed up according to the government inspection plan of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for 2019.
In the afternoon, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and the department heads under the Ministry of Labour in Uthai Thani province visited 2 people with disabilities. The first was Mrs. Banjong Churut, age 61, residing at 49 Moo. 5, Nong Phai Ban, Mueang, Uthai Thani, who is insured under Section 40 as a disabled person from an ischemic stroke. She received compensation for lack of income from the Social Security Office, in the amount of 800 Baht per month for 15 years. The second person is Mr. Pichet Udomtham, aged 50 years, who is insurer under Section 39 as a disabled person. He was injured from a traffic accident from the spine, which weakened his limbs. Mr. Pichet resides at No. 46, Moo No. 5, Nong Phaiban, Mueang, Uthai Thani, and receives a monthly compensation of 2,000 Baht for life.
