MOL Joins 14th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Workers (AFML) via Teleconference

            On September 8, 2021, at 12.00 hours, Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Pattraporn Samatrat, as the head of the delegation, participated in the 14th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Workers (AFML) via teleconference at the Prasong Rananant Conference Room, 5th Floor, Ministry Labour. Representatives from the Department of Employment, Department of Skill Development, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, and the Social Security Office also attended the meeting via teleconference.

            The forum today was organized by Brunei Darussalam, continuing the session on September 6, 2021. Participants included government representatives, the private sector, employers and employees from the 10 ASEAN member countries, and the International Labour Organization.

            The meeting jointly developed recommendations for the 14th AFML Session, the theme of which was “Recovery and labour migration in the post-pandemic future.” Recommendations included providing migrant workers access to COVID-19 testing and COVID-19 vaccines, income support and social protection, and for returning workers to have access to employment and improved labour import agreements.
