On August 23, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, to visit the pilot site for the implementation of the Factory Sandbox project of Pathum Thani Province at Belton Industrial (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani. The company manufactures electronic components and has 4,300 insured persons. Deputy Governor of Pathum Thani Province, Mr. Pongsatorn Kanchanachitra, chaired the occasion. The Deputy Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Mr. Wannarat Srisuksai, heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Pathum Thani, Khlong Luang District Chief, the Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Officer, and Karunvej Hospital representatives participated in the event. Mr. Prateep said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, have given importance to the prevention and control of the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. On August 16, 2021, the CCSA approved a pilot project for prevention and control of the pandemic in industrial plants (Factory Sandbox) by working with various agencies in the area under the process ” inspect, maintain, control and supervise,” which consists of proactive screening for factory employees according to established measures, the establishment of a field hospital to treat green, yellow and red categorized patients, and issuance of certificates to the companies to ensure investor confidence.
