MOL Launches “Ruam Chang” Application for the People

Content Description

On March 2, 2020, at 11.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatu Mongol Sonakul gave a press release on launching the “Ruam Vhang” application to service people when searching for a list of skilled technicians with skill standards. It allows access to workers who have been trained or have knowledge and skills certification by providing service of 3 types of technicians, namely 1) Electricians providing electrical wiring services within the building, installing electrical systems within the building and accommodations, or changing lamps, plugs, switches, and breakers. 2) Air conditioning technicians providing service for cleaning, installing, refilling air conditioners, and checking air condition abnormalities. 3) Plumber and sanitary ware technicians providing services for changing faucets, water pipes, and sanitary ware installation.

The Labour Minister went on to say people living in condominiums in the city center or workers with single houses, including housewife groups, often experience problems with broken home appliances such as broken water pipes, faucets or air conditioners within the home, which need to be cleaned periodically for it to work efficiently. Searching for a technician to provide services is therefore necessary and essential as technicians require the appropriate skills. The price must also be standard, and most importantly, the service must be reliable. Thus, the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development (DSD), has assigned technicians to service the people in various areas across 77 provinces and has created the “Ruam Chang” application for the people and housekeepers to call technicians more quickly and conveniently. Users can search for a technician via mobile phone by searching for the “Ruam Chang” application in the play store or app store. It can be installed for both Android and iOS systems under the concept of “Ruam Chang app, easy to use, just click.”

“There are currently 786 technicians serving the country (data as of March 2, 2020). In Bangkok and outer provinces, there are more than 100 people. There is also a network of the Ministry of Labour that has technician services included in the “Ruam Chang” application, such as technicians from the Thai Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Association that have passed a selection process, to provide services to people who want to hire excellent craftsmen with standards and fair prices. For those looking for a sound technician, look at “Ruam Chang,” concluded by the Labour Minister.
