On October 21, 2020, at 18.00 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, along with heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Chonburi, attended a meeting with members of the Eastern Federation of Thai Industries in the project meeting of the Eastern Federation of Thai Industries, scheduled to be held between October 21-22, 2020. The meeting took place at the Novotel Marina Sriracha, Chonburi. Participants consisted of members of the Eastern Federation of Thai Industries Council, heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour, and other relevant parties, totaling 40 people. In the meeting, Mr. Surachai presented the Minister of Labour’s urgent policies and missions, emphasizing proactive work, accessing local areas, and integrating the public and private sectors to drive the economy. The efforts ensure the enhancement of workers’ quality of life to be protected by law, employment, income, good welfare, and happiness at work, together with stability and sustainability. Mr. Surachai also introduced the Co-payment program (employment of new graduates). The government supports 50 percent of the wages by inviting the private sector to recruit new graduates to enhance skills and work experience, allowing new graduates to earn income and be self-sufficient. He also publicized the influenza vaccination program to employees aged 50 and over and insured by the Social Security Office. Eligible employees can get vaccinated at the affiliated hospitals from October 15, 2020, onwards, whereby all companies are encouraged to publicize, invite, and allow employees to get vaccinations during their work hours without deduction of wages being considered as a vacation.
