On August 28, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, to visit the Samut Sakhon Factory Sandbox project at Unicord PCL. Mr. Boonsong said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, have given importance to the prevention and control of the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. On August 16, 2021, the CCSA approved a pilot project for prevention and control of the pandemic in industrial plants (Factory Sandbox) by working with various agencies in the area under the process “inspect, maintain, control and supervise,” which consists of proactive screening for factory employees according to established measures, the establishment of a field hospital to treat green, yellow and red categorized patients, vaccinating workers and the issuance of certificates to the company to ensure investor confidence.
From there, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and committee visited the vaccination point at Unicord PCL to prepare services for insured persons. The Factory Sandbox project started operations on August 23, 2021. There are 14,798 cumulative RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 (data as of August 27, 2021).
