MOL Organizes Job Expo Thailand 2020 with Over 1 Million Jobs Nationwide to Promote Employment on September 26-28 at BITEC Bangna Hall EH 98-99

               The Ministry of Labour organizes the Job Expo Thailand 2020, the largest national job expedition, to alleviate unemployment suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic and economic stagnation. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin was chairman of the ceremony and attended the event’s press conference among the media and many honoured guests such as Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL., the Minor Food Group PCL., and PTT. The event took place at the Ministry of Labour’s Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Meeting Room.

               Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin said that the organization of the Job Expo Thailand 2020 is in response to the government policy by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan. They want to accelerate economic recovery after the Covid-19 situation has eased to promote all target groups’ employment. The focus is for Thai people to have jobs in every area, to support steady and ongoing employment, and focus on empowering human resources to increase the workforce and organizational potential in building economic strength and sustainably, promoting Thailand’s competitiveness for the future.

                The Job Expo Thailand 2020 consists of the “Thailand Together: A Million Jobs for A Million People” zone. There will be booths from leading agencies and organizations from all over the country, gathering over 1 million vacancies, ready to serve the unemployed. There are 106,312 vacancies by the Department of Employment, 410,415 vacancies by the government, 112,242 overseas roles, 66,881 part-time jobs, 44,150 jobs that are expected to employ Thai workers instead of foreign workers, and 260,000 roles following measures to promote employment for graduates, and roles for the elderly and people with disabilities, together with the “Job and People” zone. People who are interested in applying for a job can register through the Thaimeengarntum.com platform. The system will match jobs suitable for individual qualifications to help shorten the time to walk around and find companies. In addition, participants can develop their professional skills within the “Creating Jobs for Professional Development” zone, switching to different courses throughout the day, such as career guidance, skill development training and demonstrations, self-employment practice, and a showcase of franchise businesses, for example.

                In addition, the event has an exhibition honouring the of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, an exhibition on the Father of Thai Craftsmanship, and a volunteer spirit 904 exhibition. Organizers have used special effects, lights, and sounds to make the exhibition even more special. For the Social Security Zone, the Innovation Zone is the introduction of technology, innovation in the age of 4.0, and the Thaimeengarntum.com platform’s capability will also be exhibited in this zone. There are also entertainment activities for visitors at the center stage, such as a mini-concert from Ble Pathum Rat (September 26), Musketeers (September 27) and GUNGUN (September 28) and the food truck zone by famous restaurants in Thailand, allowing visitors to the option of buying and tasting as well.
