July 2, 2026 – Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony of the “SAKAEO SKILLS FOR ALL: Study with Funding, Graduate with a Job – Upskill, Expand Opportunities, Build Sustainable Income” project. Mr. Parinya Photisath, Governor of Sa Kaeo Province, delivered the welcome address, and Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, Director-General of the Department of Skills Development, presented the report on the project objectives. Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, delegated Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, to attend the opening ceremony. Heads of government agencies, executives from the public sector, private sector, businesses, and educational institutions attended in full. The event was held at the Sa Kaeo Skill Development Institute 31, Wattana Nakhon District, Sa Kaeo Province.
Mr. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, stated following the ceremony that the Ministry of Labour places great importance on continuous workforce skills development to accommodate the rapidly changing economy, digital technology, and employment models. The Ministry of Labour is driving the “Study with Funding, Graduate with a Job” policy to open lifelong learning opportunities for all groups of the population, encompassing upskilling, reskilling, and the development of new skills for the future, to secure stable employment, higher incomes, and a sustainably improved quality of life. Sa Kaeo Province is a strategically significant economic area with potential across industry, trade, services, tourism, and cross-border economic connectivity. Developing a workforce with skills matched to market demands is therefore a key mechanism for driving the provincial and national economy. He commended the collaboration between the public sector, private sector, educational institutions, and businesses in jointly creating a learning environment and providing opportunities for people to learn through practical experience, enabling them to build upon their knowledge towards careers and income-generation tangibly.
The “SAKAEO SKILLS FOR ALL” project is organised by the Sa Kaeo Skill Development Institute 31 to provide workers in businesses, the self-employed, the unemployed, students, independent professionals, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and the general public with broad access to knowledge and vocational skills development. With the cooperation of Sa Kaeo Province, Ministry of Labour agencies, educational institutions, businesses, and partner networks, over 30 exhibition and demonstration booths have been set up covering modern technologies such as electric vehicles (EV), IoT systems, clean energy, agricultural product processing, food preparation, beverages, services, and health and wellness, alongside national skill standard testing, competency certification, career guidance, and comprehensive employment services.
The Minister of Labour toured the vocational training demonstrations and exhibitions at the event, including electric vehicle technology, graphic design and digital technology, agricultural product processing and community products, Thai cuisine and street food preparation, professional barista skills, bakery, spa massage and wellness, professional men’s hairdressing, solar cell system demonstrations, national skill standard testing, and met with graduates of thin aluminium TIG welding training from the group of persons with physical disabilities. He also visited exhibitions from Ministry of Labour agencies and their network of business partners.
