MOL Subcommittee to Drive the Implementation on the Cabinet’s Resolution Regarding CPTPP on Labour Meet for 1/2021

           On March 25, 2021, at 15.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin chaired the subcommittee meeting to drive the implementation of the Cabinet’s resolution regarding CPTPP on labour no. 1/2021. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol also joined the meeting at the Mitmaitree meeting room 2, 5th floor, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare.
           Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin discussed the presentation of useful information for preparing the framework, commenced on the readiness and timing of negotiations, or not being ready to join CPTPP. The Ministry of Labour will collect information, opinions, and recommendations to the International Economic Policy Committee for further submission to the Cabinet.
           Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin thanked all committee members who attended the meeting to drive the Cabinet’s resolutions regarding CPTPP on labour. The agenda is related to the implementation of the Cabinet’s resolution on January 26, 2021, assigned to the International Economic Policy Committee to prepare a framework to follow up on the organization of action plans for adaptation and to collect information and make recommendations about readiness and negotiations or dissatisfaction of the Thai people today CPTPP participation. The Extraordinary Commission’s efforts are, as noted, examining the impact of joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) on the issue of allowing migrant workers to form trade unions. The consideration results will be sent to the Secretariat of the Cabinet within 90 days (April 25, 2021) for submission to the Cabinet.
