MOL Supports Bangkok Labour Volunteers in Response to the Peoples’ Needs

            On July 24, 2020, at 13.00 hours, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Surapol Ploysuk chaired the commencement of the project to promote and support the operations of Bangkok volunteer workers for the fifth time, at the Ratchavipha Room, 2 nd floor, Than Thip Building, Chaopraya Park Hotel, Bangkok. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour said that the Ministry of Labour recognizes the importance of integration among agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Bangkok, for responsible agencies and relevant labour volunteer work to take the results from the seminar to develop an overview of labour volunteer work with agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Bangkok. The results will be used to make operational plans and integrate labour missions, leading to the concrete workforce of Bangkok volunteers, supporting workers to have a better quality of life and job security, fulfilling the purpose that the ministry set forth. In addition, participants will be informed of the missions of the five agencies under the Ministry of Labour and guidelines for assigning Bangkok labour volunteers with operations to take labour volunteer services to the people in the area, providing information, coordinating the needs of labour services in various fields, to promote and prevent labour problems at the local level and to store labour data for the Bangkok labour volunteers to work following the Ministry of Labour’s mission. There will also be communications to create awareness among the people in the area and the exchange of learning to be applied to benefit the participants and volunteer work in the future.

            The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour added that the labour volunteers are a mechanism to drive the Ministry of Labour’s tasks to the community’s people, sharing their knowledge and experience gained from exchanging learning between the Bangkok labour volunteers at the coordinator level in Bangkok, staff of all departments and Social Security Offices at the local level, to drive the mission of the Ministry of Labour for sustainable efficiency, to meet the needs of the people and the community.
