The Permanent Secretary of Labour traveled to Phuket to visit the informal worker community service unit using mechanisms for volunteer workers and informal networks in the area to coordinate and drive government policy. The efforts aim to improve informal workers’ quality of life, have a career, income, and protection, with security and a guarantee of stability in life.
On July 1, 2021, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol visited the informal worker’s community service unit, Moo 5, Koh Kaew Subdistrict, Mueang, Phuket. The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, also joined the occasion to listen to the objectives of the informal worker’s community service unit, guidelines, and action plans. The objective of the informal worker’s community service unit is to improve the quality of life of informal workers. The service unit has the duty to promote and expand career opportunities, labour information service and receive complaints from informal workers to allow informal workers easier access to government services.
Mr. Suthi said the Ministry of Labour had driven the government’s policies to improve the quality of life of informal workers by promoting volunteer workers and informal networks in the area to be a mechanism for coordinating operations, to enable information workers to have access to labour services, have a career, income, and protection, with security and a guarantee of stability in life.
