MOL Welcomes Confederation of Thai Labour and Workers’ Social Security Network on Visit to Congratulate and Discuss Official Matters

          On August 14, 2019, at 14.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul welcomed President of the Confederation of Thai Labour (CTL) and Leader of the Employee Social Security Network (ESSN) Mr. Manas Kosol and committee, to congratulate the Labour Minister on appointment to his new position and discuss official labour issues. The visiting committee submitted a proposal to the Labour Minister who had a total of 7 items, including 1. Reform and enhance benefits for insurers. 2. Improvement of medical treatment fees from the Compensation Fund to match those of other funds 3. The state’s allocation of additional budget to the “Employee Welfare Fund” amounting to 1,000 million Baht in 2020 4. Reforming employment of government agencies or organizations to employ workers under the Labor Protection Act BE 2541, social security laws and the compensation fund laws 5. The government must have measures to control the prices of goods that are necessary for living. 6. The government must have means to help employers affected in the case of adjusting the minimum wage to 400 Baht per day with 5-year long-term measures, and 6. Minimum wage to be the first wage to enter and provide an annual wage structure or according to skill. The meeting took place at the Labour Minister’s meeting room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
