MOL Welcomes Winrock International in Thailand

          On March 2, 2021, at 13.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the meeting with Meghan McBain, Head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Winrock International in Thailand and delegation, to discuss issues regarding the project implementation. The meeting took place at the Legal Division Meeting Room, 11th floor, Ministry of Labour. Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Pattaraporn Samantarat, the Department of Employment’s Deputy Director-General Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Inspector-General Mrs. Watcharee Makwan and relevant government officials also attended the meeting. The USAID’s Anti-Trafficking in Thailand project has been implemented for five years (2017-2022), with the main objective of reducing human trafficking and protecting the rights of victims of human trafficking in Thailand. The efforts aim to reduce demand and incentives for labour in the human trafficking model, enhance efficiency and protect the rights of vulnerable populations, and develop a system to protect human trafficking victims. This includes building cooperation between the public, the business sector and civil society to achieve the goal of reducing human trafficking. It also works with various sectors such as organizations, partners, networks, civil society, business and migrant workers to achieve its goals.
