Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia described labour situations to graduate volunteers of 5 Southern Border Province of Thailand

                On 9 June 2010, Ms. Pangmas Wichiensin, Labour Counselor, described labour situations about Thai workers in Malaysia to the 2nd batch of graduate volunteers in southern border provinces of Thailand who visited Malaysia led by Mr. Chaowalit Petchumnong, Assistant Director of Southern Border Province Administrative Centre/ and the group of 8 official of SBPAC according to the project on enhancing capacity of graduate volunteer’s performance to develop motherland.

               Southern Border Province Administrative Centre (SBPAC) arranged the project on applying geographical information system for information management on the basis of public demand and government support 2010. There are graduate volunteers in targeted area of 1,344 villages according to development scheme for 5 special areas in southern border provinces and study visit activity in Malaysia. Royal Thai  Embassy in Kuala Lumpur arranged the event to describe Royal Thai Embassy’s missions and duties in terms of consular works, aiding suffering Thais and victims of human trafficking, also labour situations and problems in Malaysia. Labour Counselor thereby asked for coordination from graduate volunteers to enquire the information about a number of Thai workers working in Malaysia in each village being in charge of so as to much perceive a certain figure of Thai people, particularly, those who have worked in agricultural sectors and Tom Yum restaurant. Such information shall be submitted to labour affairs of SBPAC.
