Office of Labour Affairs in Riyadh invited Thais in Saudi Arabia to register for a member of job seeker oversea employment fund.

             Office of Labour Affairs in Riyadh received a petition from Thais’ cousins and they assisted Thai workers in Saudi Arabia in many cases, Apparently, it was found that legal and illegal Thai workers in Saudi Arabia approximately 15,000 people mostly age between 40-60 years old have to work in dry climate and geography like desert so that they always confronted with health problems and afflictions as well as mental health. Many of them have pestilential such as tuberculosis, cancer and heart disease which is tended to be continually increased. The causes have mostly arose from unconcern of healthy and overlook of keeping healthy or health check-up or otherwise due to the problems of communication with foreign physician when seeking for medical treatment or health check-up. Meanwhile, many of them fled from employers due to several reasons leading to no health insurance obtained and some fell ill from pestilential so they could not return to Thailand because they had severe conditions and the physicians posted to airlines also did not allow travelling by airline. Moreover, several died in Saudi Arabia.
              The body of Thai workers who died in Saudi Arabia and not Muslim shall be sent back to Thailand because the funeral ceremony cannot be arranged in Saudi Arabia and send their ashes to Thailand since it contradicts to the tradition. The local employer shall be responsible for sending their body to Thailand at Suwanabhumi International Airport. As part of any transportation expenses from Suwanabhumi Internationals Airport to their domicile and any funeral expenses, the cousins of dead workers will be responsible for. Many of dead workers’ cousins desire to arrange funeral ceremony in Saudi Arabia and sending ashes to Thailand since they are indigent and have no money for arranging funeral ceremony. 
              Office of Labour Affairs in Riyadh has consulted with Royal Thai Embassy to Riyadh and reached the conclusion that if such dead workers were a member of job seeker overseas employment fund, their successor would be entitle to receive 40,000 baht for a subvention of funeral expense and other benefits in other cases. This could relieve distress and could help their successors. Hence, Office of Labour Affairs in Riyadh, therefore, would like to invite Thai workers who are on vacations in Thailand to register as a member of the fund prior to re-entry to work in Saudi Arabia at Provincial Office of Employment near your home by preparing following documents;
– The application for paying contribution to job seeker oversea employment fund.
– Copy of employment contract
– Resume
– 1 of 1 inch photo portrait
– Copy of identification card
– Power of attorney (in case of authorizing others to be substitute)
