Permanent Secretary of Labour Commences Training Program to Prepare Personnel Becoming Provincial Heads of Government

Content Description

On December 19, 2019, at 14.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the training program on “preparing personnel for becoming provincial heads of government.” The event took place at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Permanent Secretary said that this training is another essential course since the Provincial Labour Office is a division of the Office of the Permanent Secretary at the regional level. The offices act as representatives of the ministry in the study, analysis, preparation, and operations following the labour development strategy, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating the ministry’s operational plan in provincial areas and groups. This course will help enhance knowledge, competency, and capabilities in carrying out work that is consistent with the duties and responsibilities, and personnel will be equipped with the desired characteristics for those who are chief government officials at the provincial level. This group of people is the key to the overall mission of the ministry, driving strategies, and developing the organization to be successful.

Mr. Suthi asked trainees to be aware and apply the knowledge transferred from the facilitator to practice in full capacity, becoming a new leader that is ready for every situation. He said that there is more responsibility in carrying out the missions, including the need to strengthen relationships, unity, and cooperation. By exchanging knowledge, ideas, and experiences with each other, he sincerely hopes that participants will use the knowledge and experience gained from training and field trips, to apply on the job for higher performance.

The training was held from December 19, 2019, until December 24, 2019, for a total of 6 days of training. Participants included 41 civil servants at the director level from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labor, comprising 7 first-level supervisors and 34 at the special proficiency level.
