On December 4, 2020, at 13.30 hours, Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan chaired the ceremony on donations to officials affected from carrying out duties on preventative measures of the Covid-19 pandemic, under the “Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office to receive donations to support the solution of Covid-19 ” account. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol received a living fund for the family of Mad Mamin, an interpreter at the Saudi Labour Office (Riyadh) who died from working to assist Thai workers in Saudi Arabia during the Covid-19 pandemic. The fund amounted to 100,000 Baht (one hundred thousand Baht only). The occasion took place at the purple room, Thai Khu Fa Building, Government Houses.
The Labour Minister and Permanent Secretary of Labour assigned the International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Labour, to coordinate with relevant agencies to assist Mr. Mad’s family as follows:
1. Receiving the royal soil for burial.
2. A grant from the Welfare Fund of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour amounting to 50,000 Baht.
3. Request for the Royal Decorations of the lower level than the sash in the special case for the deceased, the Most Nobel Order of the Crown of Thailand insignia for Mr. Mad. The Human Resource Division has prepared a letter to the Cabinet Secretariat as well.
4. Writing a letter to the Comptroller General’s Department for approval to pay extra money and compensation for Mr. Mad’s ending of work. The total amount of 2,218,175.36 Baht has been approved.
5. Making a letter to the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office to request a donation to the “Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office to receive donations to support the solution of Covid-19 ” account, whereby receiving an allowance from the provident fund of 100,000 Baht.
