Permanent Secretary of Labour Joins 16th SLOM

          Today (October 26, 2020) at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Pattraporn Samatrat joined the 16th ASEAN Senior Labour Officials Meeting (SLOM) through a video conferencing system at Sangsingkeaw Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The Permanent Secretary of Labor as Chief ASEAN Senior Labour Officer for Thailand and Chair of the ASEAN Committee on Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Foreign Workers (ACMW) (2020-2021) presented 1) The ACMW’s key milestones in the ACMW Action Plan 2018 – 2025 such as self-assessment of the ASEAN consensus to protect and promote the rights of foreign workers and the ASEAN Guidelines on Effective Return and Reintegration of Migrant Workers to be endorsed by the ASEAN Labour Ministers (ALMM) before preparing for notation at the 37th ASEAN Summit in November 2020. The plan also contains such guidelines to be one of the projects in the roadmap to propel the ASEAN Rehabilitation Framework and 2) Significant progress of Thailand’s titular member at the Governing Body meeting of the International Labour Organization between 2017 – 2020.
