Permanent Secretary of Labour Visits Thai Trainees in Kanemi, Chiba, Japan

           On February 5, 2020, Permanent Secretary of Labour and the Ministry of Labour’s executives met with 25 Thai technical trainees at Kanemi Company, Chiba province. Kanemi’s Export Department Manager Mr. Kiwa Munakata welcomed the visiting committee. At present, Kanemi has 14 factories in Japan and have accepted 1,052 trainees from Thailand as cooks, and to prepare food boxes for delivery at various convenience stores.

           The Permanent Secretary of Labour gave a speech and spoke to the trainees, giving words of encouragement to them. He said that trainees who have worked in Japan for 3 years and have returned to Thailand, can return to work in Japan as a “skilled worker”, which is a new visa. If trainees work in the same field, they will not have to pass language and skills tests. The Permanent Secretary of Labour also distributed dry foods from Thailand to build morale among the trainees.
