The Ministry of Labor held a meeting to discuss senior level Abu Dhabi Dialogue (ADD)

          Mr. Somsak Apithananakul, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor as a head of the delegation of Thailand attended the meeting: Abu Dhabi Dialogue (ADD) from 8 to 9 May 2018 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The purpose of the meeting (Abu Dhabi Dialogue among the Asian Labour-Sending and Receiving Countries) is to exchange information and promote academic cooperation to enhance and improve the quality of life and well-being of migrant workers. In order to ensure the smooth and safe movement of workers, both the sending countries and the recipient countries, the United Arab Emirates And the Sri Lankan Social Democratic Republic hosted the conference. Thailand participates in the framework of cooperation since 2008.

          Attendees included representatives from ADD countries, representatives from international observers and international organizations, including 100 representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and the Department of Employment from Thailand.
         The main topics in the meeting were: Presentation of research on the implementation of the CIOP (Comprehensive Information and Orientation Program), a partnership between ADD (recipient country) and member countries CP (labor sending countries) with the GCM (Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration), strengthening the policies of the country of origin and destination country in employment, MRA and the direction of employment of domestic workers in the Gulf countries in the future.
         In addition, the meeting acknowledged the launch of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue website and discussed and exchanged knowledge. Comments on the introduction of technology to promote and support the delivery of international workers, recipients and senders, skill development, development of professional qualifications standards in the region to promote the role of the private sector and civil society in the process of labor migration, the extension of social protection in the issue of human rights of migrant workers. Presentation of research and situation and patterns of employment of domestic workers in the Arabian Gulf. Trends, suggestions, and future challenges as well as expanding the cooperation framework of professional qualifications. Arab countries pair up with Asia. (India / Pakistan / Philippines).
