Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia reported that Malaysia’s government said it would give illegal migrant workers, who are not registered under its 6P program, an opportunity to report the Immigrantion Offices before October 31 for an amnesty.

 

The wokrers will not be arreseted or finned if they turn up before this date. But they will have to bring their passport and fligth tickets with them. The workers will be scanned their fingerprints which will be kept by officials for a record, and will be issued a Check Out Memo (COM).

 

The Office of Labour Affaris in Malaysia said the second phase of the 6P program — the legalization of illegal migrant workers – has been processed since 10 October 2011 and will end on 10 January 2012.

 

After that, the govenemnt will carry beign track down and enforce laws against illegal migrant wokrers who are not registered under the program as well as employers of the illegal migrant wokrers, it said, noting that Malayisa’s authorities have prepared 4 million law enforcement officials to carray out the operations across the country.

 

The Office of Labour Affairs in Malaysia otained the infomraiton after attending a meeting on second phase of the 6P program, held by Malaysia’s Home Ministry at Putrajaya on 20 October 2011.

 

 

Office of Labour Affiars wants to send out this message to all Thai wokers in Malaysia, especiailly those who work illegall in the country or those who are not registred under the 6P program. They are urged to report to any of the three  Immigrantion Office,which are located at Putrajaya, and Malaysia’s states of Selangor and Johor.
