On Sunday the 7th June 2008, Minister Counsellor (on labour) Miss Sadudee Kitisuwan participated in the commencement ceremony and activities at the friendly relations event for foreign workers for 2015 which took place in Taichung City. The event was arranged by the Division of Labour in Taichung with Mr. Lin Chia-Lung, Thaichung City Governor as president of the opening ceremony, alongside representatives of worker exporting offices from 4 countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines), the Thai Association of Taiwan, the Employment Association of Thaichung which were also invited to the ceremony.
On the 12th and 28th May 2015, IM Japan by Minister Counsellor (on labour) Mrs. Suchada Cheecharoen, the Labour Office in Japan, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo and committee attended the orientation session for the 2015 Batch of IM Japan, consisting of 2 batches (batch B27-1 and batch B27-2) with a total of 20 participants and 14 participants respectively. The orientation session took place at the training center in Kasukabe city in Saitama, one a half hours away from Tokyo.
During May of 2015, the Riyadh Labour Office and the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh visited employers in 4 organizations consisting of Tabbah Company in the gemstone industry, the Spirit Spa, Ginger Japanese Restaurant and Apollo Spa, as well as meeting Thai workers in Lebanon, Buraidah and Al Khobar of Saudi Arabia. The visiting members from the Labour Office and Thai Embassy provided the workers with services for passports and national identification cards in the travelling consular project by the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh. The Riyadh Labour Office also provided advice to the organizations and distributed brochures about recruiting Thai workers, reiterating expected behavior to the Thai workers who participated in the event and services.
The Economic Research Center in Taiwan forecasted the Taiwanese economy in 2015 would grow by a little whereby expecting the economic growth rate (GDP) to be 3.48 from the GDP of 2014 which was 3.44 percent. The global economy before the end of 2014 may grow 0.5 to 0.6 points which is one factor in helping the Taiwanese economy grow and move towards a positive direction too. Furthermore, there are also internal factors in Taiwan which influenced researchers to predict a positive growth which include the statistics on the sustainable and growing consumption in the private sector, as well as the increased number of inbound tourists.
On Sunday 6 May 2012, officials from Office of Labour Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy in Germany led by Mrs. Suchada Cheecharoen, Minister Counsellor (Labor Affairs), along with labour volunteers attended a ceremony to celebrate 150th anniversary of Thai-German diplomatic relations at Thai Park in Berlin. They held mobile labour service and volunteer activities, including indigenous Thai massage and western style spa at the ceremony organized by Thai communities in Germany with support of the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin. The main objectives of the activities were to showcase capability of Thai workers and Thai indigenous knowledge including Thai massage to German people; to promote their popularity, and to boost diplomatic relations between Bangkok and Berlin. At the ceremony, the Office of Labour Affairs also distributed brochures and leaflets about its activities to visitors. March 10, 2026 – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, revealed that the Cabinet has approved an extension of the deadline for renewing work permits for more than 370,000 migrant workers from Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam until March 31, 2026, from the previous deadline of February 24, 2026. This measure aims to prevent these workers from falling out of the system and becoming undocumented, as well as to avoid disruptions to businesses and the labour market, particularly to the country’s economic momentum. The Labour Minister further explained that the Cabinet resolution also extends the deadline for passport preparation or substitute travel documents, as well as for visa processing, from June 24, 2026, to July 31, 2026. As a result, the affected workers will be granted temporary relief once the relevant notifications from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labour come into force. March 10, 2026, 13.30 hours – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, assigned Mr. Pichet Thongphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, to represent the Ministry of Labour in welcoming and facilitating Thai workers affected by unrest in the Middle East. A total of 10 workers returned from Bahrain and arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan Province. This marks the second group of returnees from Bahrain, following the first group of 1 worker who returned on March 6, bringing the total to 11 workers to date. Mr. Pichet Thongphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, stated that currently 11 Thai workers have returned from Bahrain, and a further 9 workers are expected to arrive on March 11, 2026, also from Bahrain. In addition, Thai workers in Iran are awaiting flights home, with nearly 1,000 having expressed their intention to return to Thailand. Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10.00 hours – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, presided over the opening ceremony and presented awards for the Outstanding Working Women on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026 at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok. Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, has expressed concern for Thai workers in Israel amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with indications that the conflict may intensify and expand, potentially affecting their safety and welfare. Ms. Trinuch stated that she has instructed the Labour Offices at the Royal Thai Embassies in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Tel Aviv, Israel, to monitor the situation and prepare to assist Thai workers closely should it escalate and affect them. “At present, the labour offices have coordinated with Thai workers to increase caution in their travel and remain in constant contact with Thai worker groups. January 21, 2026 – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, together with Mr. Somchat Supharee, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Skills Development, took part in a vocational training activity under the delivery restaurant course, featuring Koy See Mee and Khao Tang Na Tang. This course forms part of the GIG WORKER project of the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour, held at the Modern Woman Cooking School. The Labour Minister stated that she places great importance on creating equal opportunities, particularly in enabling vulnerable groups, informal workers, older persons, and those affected by various circumstances to access vocational training. Culinary training is one of the key approaches to developing workforce skills that align with current and future labour market demands, especially in the service and tourism industries. Following another crane collapse on Rama II Road on the morning of January 15, only hours after the tragic crane collapse in Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, at the high-speed rail project site, Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, ordered the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to immediately inspect the accident site and assess the damage. She also instructed safety inspectors and the Social Security Office to engage in discussions with both employers and employees to ensure urgent care and assistance. Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, disclosed that Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, expressed her deepest condolences over the crane accident that collapsed onto a train on the Krung Thep Aphiwat–Ubon Ratchathani route. She has therefore instructed the Social Security Office to verify insured persons who were killed or injured, in order to provide assistance and compensation benefits as quickly as possible. This also includes relief for insured persons affected by the bomb attacks in the three southern border provinces. Pol. Lt. Col. Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, disclosed that she has instructed the Social Security Office to verify the names of those injured in the crane accident involving the Bangkok–Ubon Ratchathani railway line, in order to urgently and immediately ensure that insured persons receive the benefits to which they are entitled. Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, disclosed that she has instructed the Labour Section at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to closely monitor and take care of Thai workers in Iran. Initial assessments indicate that 38 Thai workers remain safe amid the ongoing protests against the government, and coordination is underway should evacuation become necessary. Ms. Trinuch further stated that the Labour Section has issued advisories to Thai workers to exercise increased caution when travelling, to avoid areas where protests are taking place, and to refrain from participating in any anti-government demonstrations for safety reasons.
