Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, ordered the coordinator to assist the heir in the case of Mr. Somkiat Sri-Muangkoe, a crew member killed in Indonesia. This is due to the fact that Mr. Somkiat , at 130 Moo 9, Tambon Takian, Kapae District, Surin was employed by the Apichok Ship 1, died at Benjamin Island, Republic of Indonesia and waiting to return to Thailand on May 4, 2558, Miss Sooksan Sri-Muangkoe, sister of the deceased, appealed to the Center for Reconciliation to ask the government to help by bringing her brother’s ashes back to Thailand.
Mr.Suradej Valeeidigul, Secretary General, Social Security Office The Ministry of Labor announced that the Social Security Office has implemented the urgent policy of the Ministry of Labor. The 1506 hotline system can be used as the main network and link to the Ministry of Labor’s hotline system to hear feedback, providing advice, receiving complaints, complaints, can provide information, consultation, and advice to people who use the service quality. Most the workers registered were Burmese, followed by Cambodian and Laotian nationals.

Permanent Secretary of Labour M.L. Puntrk Smiti chaired the workshop for the Informal Worker Management Strategy 2017 – 2021, which took place at the Century Park Hotel on Din Daeng, Bangkok. The Permanent Secretary commended efforts by informal worker leaders on working with the public sector, an issue that Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul has given great focus to. The strategy aims to convert informal workers into the formal working system to ensure social protection, employment opportunities and more.
The Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General and spokesperson Mr. Ananchai Uthaipatanacheep gave a press briefing after Labour Minister General Sirichai Distakul welcomed H.E. Mr. Hun Manet, vice chairman of the committee for legalizing Cambodian workers residing in Thailand and a committee of Cambodian diplomats to Thailand. The parties discussed the nationality verification process and steps for issuance of travel document to Cambodian workers.
The Taiwanese Ministry of Labour revealed survey results on foreign worker management and employment in 2015. Results showed that foreign workers in the manufacturing industry (construction and industrial factories) worked an average of 210 hours a month, with an average income of 24,581 Taiwan Dollars and 7.7 days of holiday a month. It was found that foreign workers in the construction industry earned an average of 24,890 Taiwan Dollars, higher than those working in industrial factories which earned an average of 24,580 Taiwan Dollars. Foreign workers working as curators in the social welfare sector were found to work more hours with an average of 10.2 hours daily with an average monthly income of merely 18,770 Taiwan Dollars.
The Central Bureau of Statistics and Accounting of Taiwan’s Executive Council announced unemployment statistics for August 2015, where the unemployment rate during that period was equivalent to 3.9 percent which was the lowest rate Taiwan had experienced in 15 years. The statistic reduced by 0.08 percent from July 2015, and 0.18 percent from the same month in the previous year. From the period of January to August 2015, the average unemployment rate stood at 3.73 percent; the lowest in 15 years.
On the 29th July 2015, labour advisor Miss Sadudee Kittisuwan participated in the “2015 International Workshop on Strategies for Combating Human Trafficking” meeting which took place at the Taipei Evergreen International Convention Center. The meeting was arranged by the Taiwan Immigration Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan, the Taiwanese Ministry of Labour and the Taiwanese Tourism Bureau.

On the 14th June 2015, advisor (on labour) of the Labour Office in Taipei Miss Sadudee Kittisuwan participated in the first annual general meeting for the Thai association in Taiwan at the Thai Made restaurant in Taipei. The meeting had the objective of reporting progress made by the managing committee and the election of a new committee, with the duty of continuing the management of the Thai people association’s work in Taiwan. At present, there are over 400 members in the Thai association in Taiwan, with the elected association president most recently being Mr. Kondech Saelee.
On the 9th June 2015, Malaysia by the Immigration Office of Malaysia held a press release that the Ministry of Home Affairs in Malaysia had a resolution to use the FWCMS system in the bio-medical checks in origin countries and calling visa documents (eVDR), for employers in Malaysia once again, after announcing the termination of use before this. The system will be implemented from the 15th June 2015 onwards, with the following important details:
1. Foreign workers entering Malaysia for work must have medical checkups at hospitals with the FWCMS system, in order to check biological information of foreign workers and for initial screening before proceeding to medical checks in Malaysia again.
