The Permanent Secretary of Labour Commenced Training for the 20th Class of Middle-Level Labour Managers

            On November 23, 2020, at 08.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the training course for the Ministry of Labour’s 20th Class of mid-level labour managers, in an online format using ZOOM, at the meeting room of the Human Resources Management Division, 10th floor, Ministry of Labour. He said that the Intermediate Labour Management Program for the Ministry of Labour’s 20th Class is an important course that focuses on developing middle-level labour managers, which is a key part of human resources in the organization. Labour Minister Instructs Special Task Force to Suppress Agents Deceiving Jobseekers Going to Work Abroad

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin instructed the Department of Employment to set up a special task force to suppress agents deceiving job seekers going to work abroad, from concerns after finding employment advertising through social media persuading people to work abroad. Victims who fall into the trap have to pay 10,000 – 20,000 Baht per person. Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon to Promote Independent Workers, Income and Social Security

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned his Advisor to visit Samut Songkhram, see and give words of encouragement to informal workers and meet heads of relevant agencies. Labour Minister Sends Off 206 Thai Agricultural Workers to Work in Israel

          On November 12, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin sent 206 Thai workers to Suvarnabhumi Airport and gave them words of encouragement before traveling to work in the agricultural sector in Israel under the Thailand-Israel Cooperation on the Placement of Workers (TIC), generating an income of 48,073 Baht per person.           Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour had implemented the policy of Prime Minister in promoting Thai workers to work abroad. It focuses on the benefits and taking into account the safety of Thai workers. There is a transparent selection process from recruitment, interviews, contracting, and inspections from relevant departments, making it possible to bring income into the country continuously. Deployment of Thai workers to work in Israel started in June 2012. Each year, Thailand receives a quota of 5,000 people a year. Labour Minister Shows Concern for Thai Crew Members in Shipwreck off Taiwan’s Cost and Instructs Local Agencies to Visit Relatives for Support

        The Labour Minister showed concern for Thai crew members on a vessel that crashed off Taiwan’s Kaohsiung coast side. He ordered the provincial labour force to lead a team of local agencies to visit their relatives, provide clarification of information and assistance regarding various benefits to get by the procedure of the law and inform the progress of the search for the rest of the Thai crew.         On October 27, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the progress of assistance to Thai workers who have suffered a shipwreck off the coast of Kaohsiung of Taiwan on October 23. Two people were injured, including Mr. Woradej Chanthong, 29, a resident of Surin who suffered head injuries, Mr. Siripol Kotsiri, 26, from Samut Prakan, with injuries to his left ankle. The company manufactures Janome branded electric sewing machines, water pumps, furniture parts, audio parts, auto parts, motorbike parts, and many more through injection molding, polishing, finishing and processing. MOL Management of the Foreign Workers Fund Committee Meets for 10/2020

                Today (September 29, 2020) at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the meeting of the Management of the Foreign Workers Fund Committee Meeting No. 10/2020. The Department of Employment’s Director-General Mr. Suchat Pornchaiwiseskul and the Ministry of Labour’s executives attended the meeting at the Tien Achakul meeting room, 10th floor, Department of Employment. The meeting considered the extension period of disbursements from the 2020 fiscal year, to be disbursed in the 2021 fiscal year. Narumol Reports Progress on Skills Development for Over 4.7M Workers to Drive the Nations Economy

                The Deputy Labour Minister reported the number of workers who have passed skills training in the past year, accelerating forward to raise the workforce’s standard, driving the country’s economy.                 On September 25, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported the Department of Skill Development’s performance for the 2020 fiscal year, with the set target of 3,827,200 people. A total of 4,728,485 people has gone through skills development, consisting of 136,882 people. The DSD conducted training for and 4,591,603 people through encouraging organizations under the Skill Development Promotion Act B.E. 2545 and amendment No. 2, B.E. 2557. In the DSD portion, there are many interesting projects such as the logistics personnel development project in collaboration with the Thai International Freight Forwarders Association (TIFFA), with 323 new graduates from the undergraduate level, training, and entering the logistics market.
