On August 27, 2019, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Somsak Apiwantanakul chaired the opening ceremony of the workshop seminar to prepare for work, following the project to improve the efficiency of labour services in the southern border provinces, to labour graduates for the 2020 fiscal year. The workshop took place at Hat Yai Paradise Hotel and Resort, Hat Yai, Songkhla, with 115 participants from Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and Songkhla, including civil servants, officials, and labour graduates. The seminar for labour graduates aimed to enable participants to apply the knowledge gained about packaging development, product development, business plans, market management, production management used to promote and strengthen professional groups in the southern border provinces and exchange experiences and knowledge about working in their areas. The workshop seminar will be beneficial to the participants, colleagues, organizations, and localities, and will help push goals at various levels to achieve success effectively. In the afternoon of August 21, 2019, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Apinya Sucharitanan visited the factory in the Phayao Provincial Prison and chaired the training and assessment of the National Skill Standards in the project to “create jobs, careers and income for inmates” together with the members of the Thai SME Confederation of Phayao in 3 professional fields (training for inmates during imprisonment). Training included supplementary vocational training in the field of agricultural product processing together with Tem Tem Co., Ltd., from August 13-15, 2019, wood product development with technology together with Ong-sa Wood Design between August 21-27, 2019, and a 280-hour industrial sewing course together with Narin Sap Limited Partnership between August 19 – November 6, 2019. There was also training for additional occupations for those close completing the penalty period, which was in the branch of electrical wiring in buildings between August 19-23, 2019, and National Skill Standards assessments in building electricians at the level 1 capability, between August 26-27, 2019, totaling 4 professional branches. On August 7, 2019, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Apinya Sujarittanan and conducted an official inspection and met with heads of departments under the Ministry of Labour in Udon Thani, for the third round, in monitoring the overall performance of the units, following the government’s official inspection plan. The examination found that the agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Udon Thani province mostly followed the Ministry of Labour’s urgent policies, on the promotion of Thai workers to travel to work abroad through the correct process, in order to be protected by law, and the promotion of skill development to support the labour markets’ demand. From reports, in the 2019 fiscal year (Octocopter 2018 – June 2019), Udon Thani is the province that has the most people looking for work abroad, mostly traveling to Taiwan, followed by Israel, Korea, Japan, Finland, and other countries. The Udon Thani Provincial Administration recruits job seekers looking to work abroad legally.
